Troy Aikman is blatantly rooting for The Cowboys during every game he announces for them. Which is totally understandable considering he played 12 years and won 3 Super Bowls for them.
Troy has always been very obviously biased towards the Cowboys and at times it will force Joe Buck to start siding with Dallas. That is where I believe it becomes a problem and today in the game against The New York Giants it became very bad.
Before the game, Troy said Dallas is not in the same league as The Giants. Aikman took multiple shots at The New York head coach Joe Judge. He used quotes that Judge has been ripped apart for and saying players would have to run a lot for penalties they made. All of this criticism of Judge is fair, but while you are announcing the game is not the time
Aikman late in the fourth quarter of a game where Dallas might as well have been playing The Giants second team offense (7 of 11 week 1 starters were out with injuries) he decided to use that game as evidence that Dallas is a very well rounded team. This Dallas team deserves a ton of credit, don’t get me wrong, but they are most definitely not a Super Bowl contending team like Aikman was suggesting.
At the end of the day. Troy Aikman is rooting for The Cowboys and it shows in his announcing; saying nothing negative about the team – calling penalties on Dallas bad calls and penalties for Dallas great calls – Positive plays for Dallas are great plays and positive plays for the opposing teams “lucky breaks”. When will The NFL and Fox get together and stop allowing this man to announce for the Dallas Cowboys?!
