The Giants Finally Have A QB With Aura

As The Great Gary Cohen would say, “It has happened! The impossible has happened!” The New York Football Giants FINALLY have a Quarterback with some swag and personality. I know-I know, They had Tommy DeVito and Tyrod Taylor. But let’s be real, DeVito was a meme and Tyrod was never the future of the team.

Jaxson Dart, our shiny new first-round pick, is standing on a boat, looking like he just stepped out of a frat house beach party. He’s got a football in his hand, and he’s eyeing a jet ski zipping across the lake. What does he do? He winds up and launches that thing like he’s auditioning for the next “Top Gun” sequel. The ball sails through the air, lands perfectly in the hands of someone on the jet ski, and boom—instant legend status. I mean, How can he not be the guy?

It’s not just about throwing a football off the top deck of a yacht to someone on the back of a jet ski; it’s about throwing it longer than 20 yards. It is about not being a stick in the mud. It is about embracing your personality to the public. It is about not throwing it to a defensive tackle laying on his stomach. But hey, if Dart can nail a throw like that on a lake, maybe he’s got what it takes to nail one in the end zone from the 50 more than 3 times a year. Or at least, that’s what we’re hoping.

The transition from Jones to Dart is like going from a reliable sedan to a sports car with 200,000 miles on it. Jones had the frame to be reliable he couldn’t get us where we needed to go. Dart? He’s flashy, he’s risky, and he might just crash and burn in a very terrible fiery crash, but damn, it’s gonna be a fun ride.
