I know we are all hate watching The Yankees in The World Series. I have some horrible news for all my fellow haters. Two fans may have saved the season for The Yanks.
Let me be VERY clear. This is my favorite thing to happen in a World Series Game since the flashers in 2019. But at what cost? These two have shown more fight than the entire Yankees roster through the first 3 games of the series. This was a legitimate turning point in this game. The Yankees woke up and were putting up good at-bats and getting some big hits. I shit you not, they scored more runs over the next two innings than they did the previous 2 games.
The Yankees pitching went on to not allow nearly as hard of contact as they have been giving up. Freddie Freeman hit a piss missile in the first inning and there were maybe 2 more hard hit balls the remainder of the game. Yankee Pitchers have cut their walks in half from game 3 to game 4. It is actually crazy how this moment turned the momentum of the entire series in the same way a walk off grand slam in a 2-2 series could.
Luckily the MLB did the right thing and banned these people from going to another game. They simply HAD to do this. The precedent that this would result in fans trying to steal opposing players glove every game. The beautiful game we love would have been completely tainted by these THIEVES. They should honestly be thrown in prison for trying to rob Mookie Betts of his glove – something that is required for him to do his job as a right fielder.
