Babe! Wake Up! Another A Fan With A Mic Blog about Daniel Jones! Plot twist: This won’t be much hating on Trash Can Dan .. or maybe it will. We shall see where my magical keyboard goes.
Yes. Daniel Jones has been bad, but he is the best QB on the roster. The ONLY reason that I am calling for him to be benched is because of that injury guarantee and all the injuries on the offensive line.
It is no secret that I do not think Joe Schoen is good at his job. He has failed to add depth at any position on this roster. For the second season in a row, the offensive line depth will result in us running an XFL offense. After watching what happened with Andrew Thomas down and Josh Ezeudu playing left tackle, I am ABSOLUTELY DUMBFOUNDED with that being the plan for this year. Joe Schoen flat out went out of his way to not build any level of depth. We never had a swing tackle. There was 0 attempt to bring one in or even train someone on the roster to fill that role. Now Eluemunor may be hurt and the human pylon that is Evan Neal is getting those first team reps at RT.
I can sit here and talk about Daniel Jones missing wide open guys or Daniel Jones being extremely inaccurate or Daniel Jones staring down the first read of every single play or how Daniel Jones does not elevate anyone on the team or how Daniel Jones has never been the reason we have won games. But I won’t be doing that.
I will be talking about the injury clause that would make an additional $23M guaranteed to Daniel Jones next year. It is a 100% lock that Jones will not be on the roster next year. He’s done. Daboll is actively throwing him under the bus. It’s over.
Daniel Jones runs with the ball like he will only gain something if he is to get injured – which is true! He will gain another TWENTY-THREE MILLION DOLLARS! We now have a tackling dummy playing left tackle and could see the human pylon in at right tackle. The team is about to go into Pittsburgh to play their defensive front which is a top three front in the NFL. There is ZERO reason to keep playing Jones. He is not so much better than Drew Lock that you have to stick with him.
For reference, the franchise tag for an edge rusher at the end of this season is in the ballpark of $23M. We are willing to throw that money out of the window. For what? I seriously do not know for what. To play a slightly better QB than Drew Lock? I will never be able to wrap my head around it.

The organization is preaching patience. They are essentially telling us that they need to replace the QB and have to build up the roster a bit more. I do not know how they can say that to the fans and continue to trot out Daniel Jones who is becoming a ticking time bomb at this point. He is going to start being sacked at a VERY high rate and looks for contact as a runner. Put Jones on the Goddamn bench and protect that future.
I think this blog ended up being a word salad – and not even a good salad. A salad that you get from a Pizza place that just has a random assortment of things in it. So I am sorry for that – but I had to get this thought out in the open.
