I Have Emailed Dave Portnoy 45 Straight Days Asking For The Chance To Blog For Barstool

You read that correctly and no, I do not think that 45 days is impressive. But it’s average .. right? Definitely wouldn’t say short .. right?

Ok, let me give some back story for those who are just finding my words. I work a corporate sales job – and I hate it. Like a lot. I get compensated very well though and my wife is expecting (Thank you, I heard the ‘congratulations’ through the screen). I can not afford to quit my job to dive head first into content creation. I have not used my name or created videos showing my face because I can’t allow my clients or my boss hear about how I get shitfaced drinking pink whitney and play NCAA Football all night or simple things that pissed me off in a random week in March.

Something tells me this video of me falling on my face watching Pete Alonso hit a 3-run shot after a shift at my other job waiting tables is not something that would not go too well either.

Great question, where in the fuck did ‘A Fan With A Mic’ come from? Easy answer: I am an irrational New York Giants and Mets fan – as you can tell from me acting a fool in that video. I allow strangers dictate my entire mood for a week. I was going to make a podcast or some kind of weekly audio thing – idk what. I made a couple of videos on the youtube – they’re deleted now – but it was WAY more difficult to keep up with than I expected. I started blogging and have absolutely LOVED doing it. I currently make negative money every year because I paid for the website that I thought might help drive traffic – worst $10 I have ever spent.

After writing blogs very inconsistently for a while, I am confident in my ability to do it. To the point to where I think it will get my foot in the door at Barstool. Once in, I will give it my absolute best. I have a very high work ethic and know that I would at the very least be an absolute MACHINE blogging.

This feels like the last chance that I will have to take this shot. So yes, I am throwing a Hail Mary to land my dream job. Will this be an Aaron Rodgers Hail Mary or a Jalen Hurts Hail Mary? Only time will tell.

I know what everyone is asking, have you gotten a response yet? No. Dave is a busy man and has not had the chance to read any of these emails. I even gave him a test on day 33 – I sent the exact same email as I did on day 32. He did not notice, just hasn’t had the time to read them yet.

I went onto YouTube to learn how to make that picture. Some say that ‘innovative’, some call it ‘problem solving’, I call it ‘just another day getting the job done’.

I have reached out to some barstool employees to get genuine feedback on my blogs. A couple were so blown away that they didn’t even answer.

Do I think these emails will actually get me employed by barstool? No. I’m not that delusional. But I am crazy enough to try.

At what point will I stop? When I die. The reality is that it takes me like 10 minutes to work on an email. Even if you put this strategy at a .001% it is well worth it. 10 minutes a day for a .001% chance to work my dream job? I don’t see how I will ever stop.

Unless of course I get fired from my job. In that case, I’d dive head first into this. The job security with a baby on the way is just too important to do that now.
