The NFL Did Not Think At All Before Scheduling The Game Tonight

In the NFL’s latest attempt at growing the wonderful game of Football that all of us Americans know and love, they decided to play a game in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Just a few small details that were not ironed out. Apparently Sao Paulo makes Chicago look like a very peaceful place.

Don’t leave the hotel? Players telling their families not to go? Seems like someone should have done just a little more research on where this game was getting played. Before I continue, I want to quickly say that I did absolutely no research outside of quick searches on Twitter. But I am just a guy writing a blog after logging off of his actual job for the day. I’m not someone who’s job it was to figure out what random city The NFL was going to go to this year. If I was that guy, I would say we are taking this way too far. England, Germany and Mexico is fine. Let’s stop adding more countries.

The next hilariously poor planning with this game is the fact that you can’t wear green while walking around without the chance of being murdered because of some kind of rivalry? So they sent 2 of the 3 teams who wear green?! I was told by a friend, who I am sure read this on twitter, that the teams are telling the fans not to wear green. I might be crazy for thinking this, but maybe we should have sent 2 other teams that don’t wear green to a city that you can be murdered for wearing green in.

Players were not only instructed to not leave the hotels, but told specifically to not bring their cellphones in public. I don’t imagine this is because they could be stolen – because these guys can buy a new phone – it’ll be fine. Will they be arrested or killed for having their phones? This guidance doesn’t even make sense to me. Don’t even try to tell me any of this isn’t true – it is on the internet.

Now these Brazilians have brought in the longest tenured Giant. Darius Slayton. They think he’s Darius Slay. Not great. Should we be putting Secret Service members around Slayton? These Brazilians are absolutely insane. No research was done whatsoever before putting this game on the schedule. Insanity move by the NFL to put a football game in this absolute batshit crazy city.

Yes. You read that correctly. The Green Bay Packers will have to travel a minimum of AN HOUR AND A HALF to get to the game! There aren’t ANY hotels that are even a little closer to the stadium?! Just put both teams at the same hotel at that point.

This makes absolutely NO sense to me. What’s next? Philly won’t be traveling to Washington or Baltimore until the day they play there? The reasoning being Green Bay is the “away team” is the funniest part. THEY’RE BOTH THE AWAY TEAM! They are playing in a different hemisphere from their home stadium. Everything that comes out about this game makes me more and more upset.

Never go back. Fuck you, Roger.
