The first episode of the first ever off-season addition of Hard Knocks aired last night and OH BOY was it incredible. I genuinely did love to see the in’s and out’s of how the font office works. They made great use of the near 2 minutes John Mara was on screen when ALL of the John Mara haters feared was proven true.
John Mara VERY clearly tries to have an influence over this team. Dude is sitting their pouting that we may not bring back Saquon. This is exactly how I always thought these things went. John would go in and say this EXACTLY. If your boss is strongly suggesting that you do something it is VERY hard to do the opposite.
It is nearly impossible to watch this and think that John Mara had nothing to do with the atrocity of a contract that was given to Daniel Jones 365 days prior. John was walking around the room like he was an emotionally abusive boyfriend trying to guilt his way into a quick Hawk-Tuah. Just an absolute INSANE exchange.
Mr. Mara even said “Well than we will have to draft a RB early.” Clearly trying to gaslight Schoen into thinking he would have to do something drastic if he does not keep Saquon. To which Joe Schoen basically said, “Yo .. are you fukin dumb?” John of course did not get his way so he send in his Son-In-Law who is third in command to get it done. Schoen dismantled him and made him sound like a dummy too.
This tweet highlights “If its Daniel.” I want to highlight. “You’re paying the guy $40M to not hand the ball off to a $12M back.”
Dummy Timmy talked about how we would lose all of this stuff from our offense. Mr. McDonnell, Are you aware that we have had a bottom 5 offense since Saquon came into the league? Time to try something different. Or as Schoen said “We didn’t pay him $40M to hand the ball off.” Basically saying that the quarterback will actually have to create some explosive plays and be the reason that we win games. I loved every second of him tearing apart those two MORONS.
Timmy-Numb-Nuts is so clearly only employed because he married John Mara’s daughter and it absolutely infuriates me. Schoen put Chris Mara in a closet with a bop-it to play with. How much longer do I have to watch Tim McDonnell fight John Mara’s moronic battles behind closed doors before he gets handed a Simon Says. This family is killing this franchise and I am sick and tired of it.
