I haven’t written a blog in a while. My bad on that. I passed up on a couple opportunities to write about Daniel Jones. It’s a little played out – waiting for baseball to get into full swing to get back to the grind. But Giants Twitter had headlines this week have given me a new chance to write about him.
Rich Eisen said he heard that the Giants are DONE with Daniel Jones. The John Mara army that is The New York Giant beat came out basically saying those were rumors and all smoke. Reminded me of SO many times The Giants beat did that crook John Maras bidding and said the mainstream media’s narrative was wrong. The most recent? Wink and Daboll hating each other.
The Giants of course met with Drake Maye already and they have now met with Russell Wilson.
I do not at all want to get into if I want Russel Wilson or not, because truthfully – I have no idea. Russ will be prioritizing a situation where he would be the starter. That might not be a possibility in New York. If we are able to draft a guy like Drake Maye, Daboll will likely want him to start at some point. I imagine that is what the conversation was about when Russ was in the building.
I just think that it is insane how beat writers are willing to straight up lie to our faces. Those John Mara checks must be doing well for Patty Traina. This is not new. This dates all the way back to the Dave Gettleman days when the writers were instructed to not bad mouth him to the public. That dude hit on ONE PICK!
What is even crazier is half of our fan-base continues to believe the beat over the national coverage. Some of you should read “The Boy Who Cried Wolf“. Maybe I just have trust issues, but I am dumbfounded how people will continue to take Patricia Traina’s word as an absolute bond.
As I write this, Jordan Ranaan is now on his “We knew this the entire time” game. I like Jordan Ranaan, I think he calls things a bit more unbiased that others (Patricia Traina). It is just funny that now that they are caught in this spot where The Giants actions scream “We do not want Jones to start 17 games next year”, they have to confirm it.
