Our King Stepped Up And Got Rid Of Night Games At Citi Field On Saturdays

Night baseball games are great. No doubt. but they also fucking suuuuuuck. There is nothing worse than going to a game, losing in the 8th inning and having to sit at Penn Station until 1AM to catch the red eye home. When your stadium manages to be in the middle of nowhere, but still in the middle of New York City, that’s going to happen.

Being able to throw the grill on, have some burgers and dirty water dogs while smoking a cigar and drinking a beer in my backyard while the sun sets is one of my favorite things to do. This will become a weekly Saturday occurrence. And I. Can. Not. Wait. Will it take years off my life? Probably. But so does laying awake until midnight thinking about all of the mistakes in my life that I’ve made to be a Met fan who watches 100+ games/year for 27 years.

I will still be able to go do things after the game, and get errands done before the game starts. I will have a lot less awkward conversations with people when I don’t want to go out on a random Saturday in June, because I want to watch the The Mets play the White Sox.

The 410 start time is the absolute elite of the elite start time. Probably not good for TV ratings, but our King stepped up and said “Fuck those ratings. Lets give our fans something to be happy about.” You will be able to spend an entire day at the ballpark, get there a few hours before and hangout for a few hours after. Just an all-time great move by King Cohen.
