Brian Daboll Needs To Chill

As I am sure everyone knows Pat Leonard’s hit piece on Brian Daboll dropped yesterday. It basically said that Brian Daboll yells a lot and was taking play-calling away from Kafka . So really nothing we didn’t already know.

This report is basically just the story from the side of Wink. And everything about him in here just makes him sound soft. Basically Daboll was yelling at Wink while Wink was trying to get plays in and it was distracting. Seems like Wink was never like, “hey man, can you not do that while I’m calling the play in?” because that dude is soft as baby shit. It’s crazy that Wink never said “Can you stop acting like a lunatic in the middle of a drive?” Daboll even asked him directly if there were any issues multiple times. Act like a man and tell your boss he needs to find better times to yell at you.

Some more things came to light about Daboll taking play-calling away from Kafka and giving it back. This is something that anyone paying attention knew was happening, but it was never confirmed and there was a little more light shined onto the situation. Daboll would tell Kafka to run the ball and then yell at him for the wrong run play and act like a lunatic over the headset. I think this might be a bit of an overreaction from Daboll.

The biggest thing we learned is that Brian Daboll is very impulsive and was yelling “You are losing this game” on the headset to coordinators. Very not good. He learned a lot of hard lessons this year and the most important just might be “You gotta chill.”

We should have his wife swap out a cigar for a nice blunt. Maybe Daboll could even throw a ZYN in on the sideline, calm the nerves a little bit. Daboll has to be decisive in his decisions and stick to them. Either have your OC call the plays or you call them yourself. Don’t switch it up every couple of weeks and even have your QB coach call plays for a half. Just relax, work with your staff and relax. The most important thing is to just relax.

This report is the biggest red flag for Daboll, but it isn’t something that makes me insanely worried. Coughlin was a lunatic and calmed down after losing all of his coordinators and went on to win 2 Super Bowls. Maybe Daboll will call him up and ask what form of therapy he used. I do look forward to all the reporters writing about how Brian Daboll is acting around the coaches and players. Going to be an interesting off-season.
