Are we experiencing the downfall of The Philadelphia Eagles? Probably not. But I am 100% going to move forward like we are. I am absolutely loving it.
If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I take joy in trolling people I hate. The Eagles are currently very fun to troll. They have now dropped 3 games in a row in pretty embarrassing fashion. Blown out by San Francisco, blown out by Dallas and blew it in the fourth quarter to Drew Lock and The Seattle Seahawks.
As we know, the citizens of Philly turn very quickly on players and coaches. When things are going well, it is very fun and easy to play in Philly. When things are going poorly, it is not fun and very difficult to play in Philly. They have a statue of Nick Foles and Doug Peterson in their parking-lot for winning a Super Bowl. BOTH of them AND Carson Wentz were booed out of town within 2 years.
Nick Sirianni is so easily unlikable and the Philly fans are noticing that he is holding the offense back. I don’t think he gets fired this off-season, but if The Eagles don’t win the division and get bounced first round – Philly will put him on a hot seat going into next year.
Jalen Hurts has also struggled a ton while playing from behind this year and threw TWO interceptions late in the fourth quarter against Seattle. Hurts is on pace to turn the ball over 20 times and when they ban the tush push, we are going to see his numbers and the offenses overall productivity drop drastically.
Going back to my hypothetical of Philly losing the division and getting bounced first round, Hurts will have to put up good numbers next year so the city of Philly turns on him as well. I get the vibe he does not get along with Sirianni, so things will get heated and the team will crumble.
Moral of the story is this all comes down to Sirianni not being a good coach and an extraordinarily difficult person to work with. His arrogance will really start rubbing people the wrong way when the offense continues to struggle and he points fingers at everyone around him.
I can not wait for Philly to fully turn on that fucking prick.
