John Mara Influencing “Don’t Draft A QB”

Here we go. I am writing a blog post about Daniel Jones who has played about 10 snaps since week 5. Fun ..

Before I start, I want to encourage everyone to watch Talkin’ Giants. Bobby and Justin do a very good job reporting from a fans perspective and it’s just a good show. Give it a watch or listen.

Regardless of if you think Jones is a terrible quarterback who was never going to make it in New York or you think The Giants have completely failed him, there has been a common talk track – it is time to move on. Specifically if they’re picking 1 or 2. I look at the Jones debates like a political debate. About 20% of the fan base are screaming from complete opposite perspectives and the other 80% are just looking at them like they’re both insane and the correct perspective is somewhere in the middle.

As Justin and Bobby talk about in this clip, people who are in the building talked about how if The Giants are in the position to take Maye or Caleb it will be difficult to pass up on one of them. They all slowly changed their tune saying they don’t have to move on from Jones. It was very strange how that talk track started taking over, as it was never something coming from the fan-base.

This is where that criminal John Mara comes in. Something that anyone paying attention will notice is John Mara loves to put his nose into places it probably shouldn’t be. We have seen Mara force decisions over and over again and when Joe Schoen was brought in, it really felt like the tide turned. Mara fired Judge even though he did not want to, but that had more to do with fan outrage, Steve Tish saying Judge has got to go, and likely Joe Schoen saying he won’t take to job if he has to go with Judge.

Now, I do not think John Mara is straight up saying “We are not taking a quarterback. End of story.” That would be lunacy. Instead he likely gaslights everyone around him and uses his influence as the owner and CEO to play mind games with people – because he’s a crook.

There is really only one man who can save us from John Mara not forcing Joe Schoen to stick with Jones – Steve Tish. Tish is like an estranged uncle who doesn’t know anything about you, but every-time he does come around it’s a good time.

If you haven’t noticed, I do not like John Mara. Never have. Once he got rid of Coughlin and Coughlin made it clear that was a decision made directly from John Mara, I was out on him.

Should’ve* Fuckin typos man.

In reality, there is about 6 months until the draft. Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll will have to confidently say “This is the quarterback we are willing to fall on a sword for.” The “You paid him. He’s your guy.” thing is stupid. They didn’t give him a “You’re the franchise guy” contract. They gave him a “you’re good enough to build a team around until we get the franchise guy” contract. Dumb to say they hitched their wagon to him. They can get out of the contract after 2 seasons.

If The Giants are picking in the top 2 the fanbase will make it known that if they don’t take either one of those QBs, MetLife will be burnt to the ground. It will be under the swamp that it is built on.
