Myles Jack Signed a new deal with The Philadelphia Eagles worth $2.5M just a few weeks ago. I do not think at all it is a coincidence that he decided he didn’t want to play anymore just a couple days after The Giants starting offense played a full drive in their preseason game against The Panthers.
Waller had 3 catches, but even beyond that – the attention he drew set up 2 or 3 other completions and one ended up being a touchdown. Darren Waller is going to be a PROBLEM this year for defenses to try and cover. He was creating consistent separation and was clearly someone they had to know where he was at all times of the play. Waller was able to find holes in zone coverage to allow Jones get easy completions and when he was double covered, was able to move those 2 guys away from other receivers to allow them to get even more open.
Bottom line is that Myles Jack saw this Giants offense operate and he thought “Nope. No way I am going to cover that guy twice this year and look like a fool.” I really don’t know why else he would retire. He is only 27 years old and has been a solid player throughout his entire career. The only explanation is that he is afraid of what Brian Daboll, Mike Kafka, Daniel Jones and Darren Waller would do to him.
