The 2022-2023 season is officially closed and it was overall a great season to be a New York Giant fan. This season was a lot of fun – but where doe it fall on my personal All-Time favorite seasons?
Important Note: I was born in 1997 – so I wasn’t able to truly experience that playoff run in 2000
1: 2007-2008

This shouldn’t be too surprising. This season was amazing. Started bad at 0-2 and went on to win the Super Bowl against arguably the best team of All-Time. That playoff run was Eli Mannings coming out party. He had game winning drive after game winning drive – outlasting The Dallas Cowboys in Dallas and of course The New England 18-0 Patriots in The SUper Bowl. Tom Coughlin has a book called ‘Giant Win’ and it is incredible and talks about how that Super Bowl went – highly recommend.
2: 2011-2012

Another shocker, right? The Super Bowl winning season in 2011 was SO fun. The team came out hot and slipped up a bit in the second half, but that did not stop them. The duo of Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz is my favorite tandem I have seen in Giants history. Both of them at any time were able to take any pass for a touchdown. This season also gave us Eli Manning best game of his career. The amount of times me and my dad were like “holy shit he got up again” was insane. That game ended and my dad looked at me and said, “There no fucking way Eli Manning is losing the Super Bowl. That was fucking incredible” The Giants obviously went on to win their second Super Bowl in 4 years.
3: 2005-2006
This was the season I started going to Giants games and really started paying attention to The New York Giants. My dad got season tickets and we went to every home game. The Giants went 11-5 and it just felt like they won every week. They got SHIT ON at home in the Wildcard game against The Panthers – worst game I ever went to. This was also Tiki Barbers last year and he was ELECTRIC raking up over 2,000 multipurpose yards. Yes, he left and said dumb shit about Eli and Coughlin – but as a 9 year old, it was amazing watching him play. This was the season that I fell in love with The New York Giants.
4: 2022-2023
Yes. I am putting the 2022-2023 New York Giants at the fourth best season I have ever watched. After 5 years of absolute dogshit, not having a winning record, not being in the playoffs – the expectations were LOW. They blew those expectations out of the water. Every game, with the exception of a couple, was amazingly fun. They won the first playoff game in over a decade. The final month of the season feels like Daniel Jones coming out party. He BALLED OUT once the offense was running through him and I really think we will look at this season the way we look at that 05-06 season being the season Eli Manning figured it out.
5: 2008-2009
This season was just pure dominance. They went 12-4 and very much could’ve won back-to-back super bowls if Plaxico Burress didn’t shoot himself. That defense was dominant all season long. The Giants started the season 4-0 and secured the 1-seed in the NFC. They lost to Philly in the Divisional Round 23-16 and if they didn’t lose that game, this season could very easily be hired on this list.
