Game 1 Of The Subway Series Was Everything We Were Hoping For

This game was fucking bananas. After the first inning the score was 4-2 and it felt like the game would be 7 hours of action. Even though the game did end after around 3 and a half hours, it was nonstop action with moments where I felt my heart beating in my throat.

The game started off with back-to-back solo shots from Judge and Rizzo. I was pretty apparent the balls were juiced, so I was not too concerned. Walker had a shakey start giving up 9 hits but only allowed 3 runs and was able to get through 6 inning. Ottavino came in to pitch 2 innings – and he looked great. This is where the fun REALLY began. Aaron Boone made the decision to pinch hit Joey Gallo for IFK. What was the reason? After the game ended, we discovered it was to make Buck pull out ADAM OTTAVINO FOR EDWIN DIAZ! That at bat went exactly as everyone thought. See below

The energy in the stadium was the best I have noticed in a very long time from my living room. Eduardo Escobar hit a 2-run home run in the first to give The Mets a 4-2 lead and he said he has never experienced any level of energy like that before. I threw a few clips from the SNY Mets page to give you a feel

If the World Series is a Subway Series, I may have to quit my job. That was EXHAUSTING. As an owner of a Giants/Mets dominant Twitter, I had Yankee fans in my mentions all night. Of course by the end they simply said “This doesn’t matter to us” but it clearly does, so whatever. I felt like I played in the game after. I was physically unable to move and so tired, but also had enough adrenaline to pick up a car running through the veins. I did not go to bed until midnight and don’t think I even slept. Waking up for work was miserable and I am ready to do this again tonight and tomorrow morning.
