The 2022 MLB Home Run Derby just may be the best lineup I can remember. This league absolutely does NOT want to see a 3-Pete. This lineup is riddled with exciting baseball players, headlined of course by The current back-to-back champ Pete Alonso. The Derby gets a bad rep because people tend to slump coming out of it. I will have to assume people gave up on that logic after Pete Alonso has come out of the Derby just absolutely murdering baseballs.
No one has more home runs since Pete entered the league than the Polar Bear himself, which makes Schwarber the 1-seed over Pete is some type of hate crime. Yes, he has 28 home runs, and they probably just ranked everyone based on how many home runs they have on the year. But you betta be respecting the champ! Shcwarber couldn’t even win the last time he participated!
Juan Soto being in it is actually just hilarious. He’s just looking for something fun to do since The Nationals are a joke. Not even a good joke, they’re like a poorly timed dad joke.

The one guy who I am worried about for Pete has to be Julio Rodriguez. This man is cool. No other way around it. He is going to dominate this league for a long time. The absolute massive 21 year old has the swag and the looks to take the title from Pete. He is the only person who makes brown eyes look incredible. I mean just look at the above picture.
In all seriousness, this is going to be incredible and it is nice to see some of the top sluggers deciding to try and beat Alonso – the best power hitter in the league as acclaimed by Pete Alonso after his last title.
